It was too good to be true...
When we first started living together we discovered some things about each others past. We both discovered that we each had a history of drug abuse. Specifically cocaine and more to the point, crack cocaine. She knew my feelings on the stuff, I never wanted to see it again. Ever!
Well, one night at the tavern a so-called friend of hers drops by. He happens to be a coke dealer, and when he asks us if we want to buy some, i flatly refuse. The night goes on, and after a few more drinks, my guard is down, and I end up buying some. That was a big mistake.
From that point on, we started cooking it, then eventually graduated to just buying crack. It was too convenient for us to get, as we lived in a crack neighbourhood. It was everywhere once you knew where to look.
At this point, I had a very good job, earning nearly $100,000 a year. I paid child support, covered our rent and expenses and still had plenty to party with. As well, I sold my half of my house to my wife and netted a fair chunk of change.
This is where we started to get stupid with it.
